Attendance Policies

Active Chevy Chase Music Lessons students are issued an account with mymusicstaff.com, our online studio management software. Billing and scheduling are handled through this program.

  1. Canceled Lessons. You may cancel lessons up to 3 days (72 hours) in advance of the scheduled lesson time, by logging in to the Student Portal. You will not be charged for lessons canceled at least 3 days in advance. If you must cancel a lesson within  3 days for any reason including scheduling conflict, illness, emergency weather, etc., you will be issued a make-up lesson credit, which will be valid for six months. To cancel a lesson:
    • Log in to the Student Portal
    • Select “Calendar” from the blue menu on the left
    • Select the lesson you want to cancel
    • Select “Cancel Attendance”
  2. Missed Lessons. If you miss a lesson and do not provide notice, you will be charged the full lesson fee and will not receive a make-up credit.
  3. Make-Up Lessons/Extra Lessons. To schedule make-up lessons or extra lessons in addition to your regular weekly lesson:
    • Log in to the Student Portal
    • Click on the lesson/event you wish to register for (you can choose any Lesson marked “Open.”)
    • Click OK to confirm your registration
    • Please note, make-up lesson credit may not be used to pay for your regularly scheduled weekly lesson.
  4. Teacher Cancelations. If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, you will receive notification as far in advance as possible. You will not be billed for any lesson canceled by the teacher.

By scheduling a lesson with Chevy Chase Music Lessons, it is assumed that you have read and accepted these policies. Failure to honor these policies will lead, regrettably, to dismissal from our studio.
